Anyone else think this is Cygames setting themselves up for a proper AAA gacha for Granblue?

The fact that they never gave the game any substantial post-release content makes me believe that they're going into overdrive developing a proper big budget game ahead of their jap competition.

I mean yeah cool, it's not a bad game and I don't really want to shit on it, but 2 million in a year isn't that great considering how huge the gacha is in Japan and how much marketing they put on the Steam release in China. Plus not to mention the shit it went through on the development front.

I think they are preparing a sequel yeah. Gacha bring money but there is a clear intent from Cygames to make actual video games despite that (Relink, Versus, Rising, Party Dash, ...). Considering that and the fact that they've stopped support for Relink, it's not too far-fetched to think they are preparing something. I think the best move for them would be to introduce Granblue and its characters from the beginning.
There is a world where Granblue becomes the new Tales of, so to say.

I doubt It. The gacha's revenue is in the shitter and they are way too desperate in their attempts to stop the bleeding to have any actual plans for a sequel, if they did they would have gone the way sv did instead of these extremely embarrasing ways of getting more money

I believe that FKHRs autism has pushed through and they are going to make a sequel or at least another type of spin off for the series. And that the reason he left the gacha was to focus on them more

It dropped in price very quickly too. Can't comment on the Steam version but here in Australia it debuted on the PS5 as a full price $90 game and was $50 within only about three months. It regularly goes on sale at JB and Amazon for about $30, too.

Anon, the game was in development for literal ages, was restarted at least twice and went through like 3 development studios in the process.
