The market is different now then it was last gen. All of the manufacturers don’t drop off support of last gen immediately, and either maintain backwards compatibility or still release games on it. Shit is STILL releasing on PS4 because the market is that large.
You may think it “doesn’t count” but it’s literally the same company making the money off the sales regardless of which release it’s on.

Enjoy the games that will release on it over the next 8 years. Mario Kart released in June. Donkey Kong in July.
