The greatest deal in video game history and there will never be anything like it again.

CS:GO was a better deal imo
$15 and it gave me daily drops that turned into thousands of dollars over time on my Steam Wallet so that I never had to buy anything again on Steam

this is an opinion barely any of you will share but most Valve games minus L4D2 and Portal have aged like milk and the Source Engine is also ugly as fuck.

Technically true, but you have to consider this is a later sale as well. When the Orange Box came out, Half-Life 2: Episode 2, Team Fortress 2, and Portal were all three completely new games. They then also repackaged Half-Life 2 and the first episode in as well. For console players, this was also the first time Half-Life 2 and the episodes were released on them. For such a good price too. The Orange Box was a legendary release, and I hope we get something like it again.

This is pretty up there. Some would argue it's a better deal. They have similar energy. A bunch of new games all released in one package. Portal was rather short. TF2 was an online game, so it offered tons of replayability, Episode 2 was a decent length and was great. However, UFO 50 honestly has more new content than The Orange Box. Especially if you're into the replayability and high score angle of it with unlocks.

I should've played more, I only ended up with around a hundred dollars. I guess people are gambling on opening some super rare skin out of the old boxes?

Why is mechanic complexity so important? We are talking about value here and these games offer lots of content for the price. What does The Orange Box do that's so complex? You have five games, only three of which are new, that all play identical as first person shooters with different guns and tools being the only difference. Meanwhile, UFO 50 offers various genres of games. Some are more complex than others. You'd be surprised just how deep some of them can be mechanically if you actually tried them.

The greatest deal in video game history wouldn’t be by known scammers who commit false advertising and fraud.

Valve screwed over the Artifact fanbase by cancelling the Artifact 2.0 beta without even allowing users to invite friends like they said they would in January 2021 and does not deserve your financial support for these gross consumer-unfriendly practices.

It's crazy how high effort that collection was because of course they can do Mario Kart/Zelda/LTTP for free but it must have been a bitch to actually secure Final Fantasy, Street Fighter and Donkey Kong Country
