I believe it.

It came out right after Mario Kart Double Dash and F-Zero GX and was decidedly more simple than either. It was generally panned by critics. It sold reasonably well but the general consensus was "City Trial is the only good mode but it needs more than one city." Most of the excitement for rideRS is because the original has so much missed potential.

Everyone played City Trial. That's the only mode you'll see people jerk off over. Air Ride plays itself. Top Ride is a glorified minigame you'd see in a handheld Kirby entry.

Games of the 6th generation get tons of hate because the kids of that time flocked to the same titles and have love and nostalgia for them.
Godhand is a prime example on /v/ because by the beginning of 07 the small discussions on it became a semi regular topic and a game the entire board knew about for a while but as time passed and we entered the endless summer all the kids would go back and not have the attention span for these titles

I 100% this game as a kid.
It's a game for kids. I liked it when I was a child. The City Trial mode was very fun, especially free roam.

Air Ride 2 is probably the best confirmed title for Switch 2 right now.
Donkey Kong Odyssey seems like it might be better than it first seemed though too.
Mario Kart World, eh I don't know, it still came out better than I thought it would be though.
Whatever the new 3d mario game and new smash 6 games are will probably be the best two games on Switch 2 though I'm guessing lol.

making a top ten list when there are only 12 options that could fit isn't that impressive. I had more fun roleplaying in the city then ever actually playing the event at the end because the game somehow feels too slow and too fast at the same time regardless of car/statline and frankly if you wanted an actual racing game for multiplayer why not play f-zero or mario kart?
