I'm making a game with hot girls and some cool guys. Hope I can show it off to /v/ at some point. The models are gonna look a bit like overwatch/fortnite which isn't really common among Indie, feels like a gamble but that's the art style.

It's going to be a third person co-op shooter. Maybe you'll see it on twitter before you see it here. Pink hair girl and sci-fi knight. Idk if there will be a story. Might be very minimal. Just want a fun game where you shoot stuff and can play as hot girls and cool dudes with friends.

It would take me like a decade to make my game, and that's being generous. I failed calculus in college. I would have to learn it and how to code while juggling it with work and other life activities. Plus, I have to learn how Unreal works too. as far as 2D platformers go, this seems to have a lot more originality in it mechanics wise than most others.

i honestly think it is that, it doesn't look appealing instantly and doesn't have an obvious hook that will want to make you wishlist/buy it.

it looks fine, artstyle has its own identity and it looks well made. but there is SOMETHING about it, just looking at it, that makes me not want to buy it.

I don't know if it makes sense, but from the name of the game to the deliberately "nothing" main character, it feels like the developer was afraid to make something they were really passionate about. It's like they were trying to deflect creative criticism by intentionally making it dumb looking. The game seems to be couching itself in unwarranted ironic self-loathing, using safe "quirky" humor to hide the fact that the dev didn't want to actually take his game seriously. Because of that, the game doesn't really have an identity of its own, like its a mangled pastiche of other games while simultaneously pointing to itself and saying "video game, am I right?". I don't want to buy some dudes half-assed attempt at showing the world he can make games, I want an honest experience.
