Vergil is in many respects the Video game rival character in it's purest form Well actually it's Shadow the Hedgehog, but saying that causes some to throw a fit

By vergil clone, do you mean "a character with similiar abilities to the player character?"

That's just the funnest and most satisfying way to demonstrate to the player their skill and progress. Especially in hack n slash games.

There were such guys before, but Vergil crystalized a bunch of hypercharged traits that lots of others have been copying since.
