When did you realize /v/ was full of casuals?
When /v/ endlessly bitched about how difficult picrel was, I came to the realization that anons here mostly expect participation trophy slop with pretty graphics from their vidya.

The Platinum relics are only somewhat harder because of the levels are twice as long and TFB replaced the dash ability with a shitty triple spin timed boost that nobody wanted. One of many reasons why this poorly designed trash flopped.

I've done it twice and it is more tedious than difficult.
Hiding boxes off screen isn't hard. Having to do levels upwards of five times at a minimum isn't hard.

The time trials are part of those five playthoughs, but even then they're easy as fuck. The only one that gives me any amount of difficulty is the final level, and specifically the Cortex section because of the weird way you have to damage abuse and use knockback. Everything else was largely easier than the platinums in 3, and especially easier than the ones that were retrofitted into 1 and 2

For me, it's all the Hitman ""fans"" claiming WoA is the best iteration in the franchise. Never has Hitman been more casualized runnan shootan slop than in that game, and it is the most lauded entry on /v/.

I mean fuck they put more focus on lighting and realistic shadows that the drop shadow needs a colored outline. Only a fucking retard would screw up something as simple as needing to make a FUCKING SHADOW stand out more by painting a yellow ring around it like it's a modern AAA game.

People are just bad. Even a lot of the Toys4Bob relic times are clearly not optimized. I'm hardly some god gamer and still got the majority of them in 30 minutes to an hour each.

The platinum relic are way easier in Crash 4 than the previous games. Longer levels give more leeway and optimizing cycles doesn't really matter. Also the triple spin is completely unneeded for any of them. I got platinum relic in all before even knowing the triple spin existed.

Have you gone for them? Yeah it probably takes at least 15 minutes each just to figure out a good path including where and how many times to slide spin/triple spin, where corners can be cut and which skips should be used, what cycles to aim for and other stuff like timing traps/enemies. I'd say even on average I was slower than the developer but made the time back up with better routing.

I looked at a friend play it and it looks plain tedious. The inverted levels are just an excuse to make you play the levels a second time. The wumpa fruit gems are an excuse to double the total amount of gems without doing anything.
I play a lot of platformers so I think I can form a general opinion just looking at it.
Despite of that, the core of the game actually looks fine and better than I expected from a sequel so many years later. Removing the lives system and changing it to what the game has was fantastic.
