I dont get people bitching about dungeons, there's only like one or two that felt redundant.

There's too many that are shit-tier in the early game so everyone gets soured on them. From Altus onward the dungeons are pretty great but you go through so many throwaway layouts in Limgrave, Weeping Peninsula, and Liurnia that unless you're really into dungeon crawling you won't even want to do them at all anymore.

It was all the same shit that went 1 of 2 ways

>walk in
>walk past door that can't be opened yet
>descend down and kill shit waits for you to come around a corner
>reach the bottom, find mask that makes funny noise
>elevator back up to switch that opens door you passed on the way in

Or

>nearly same shit as above
>walk into boss room with tree roots in the back
>kill easy boss, get summon weaker than what you already have
>touch shortcut teleport to go back to the entrance

It was boring after the first couple times of both

The catacombs and tombs are very slow to ramp up, they don't really get genuinely interesting until Altus, and I don't remember if the caves ever do. The good catacombs are really good though, I love the ones that trick you with the duplicate rooms and fake dead enemies.

Some of the layouts are pretty good, it's the copypaste textures and enemies that blows. They don't even do the absolute bare minimum of palette swaps.

For 1080p you're fine. Will need to back off on a few settings (try grass, surprisingly demanding), but should be able to hit 60 most of the time. Some fights will chug, if you can't stand it, go down to 720 for that fight.

Elden Ring gets seriously dragged down as an experience specifically because after a short while, you've exhausted the few different types of explorable locations, and finding a new one just becomes a tedious mark on a checklist instead of something to explore with wonder. It really bottoms the game out, honestly. They should have made a game 1/3 the size and made the locales much more varied

>What's a good level in Elden ring?
60 and you should be at least to 50 by Mountaintops. Going from 30 to 40 is by far the biggest jump though, it's nearly a 50% increase in HP.
>Also What level do you usually reach the endgame at?
~150 (~200 with DLC)
No point in raising vig past 60, you get fuck all for returns. Put the points into endurance for heavier armor, or invest into mind and faith for defense buffs. Black Flame's Protection is actually insane, the sturdiest they've let the player be since Warding in Demon's Souls.

Correct, every single dungeon has a unique gimmick. It's the assets that become boring, there's only cave, ruins and hero tombs. Also, there are many copy pasted elements, such as the stairs leading to a boss room, which adds to the feeling of repetitiveness.

Also, people tend to miss those dungeons, and come back later using a wiki and chain them, burning themselves out. That and people come back to early missed dungeons after completing big ones, and only remember the last ones they did, the easy ones.

There's a pretty wide spread of stat scalings within each weapon category, and you also get the ability to customize weapons with ashes of war and whetstones that further change the weapon properties and scalings (for example, you can make anything a fth-scaling fire weapon or an int-scaling frost weapon). You're also given a large number of respecs to change your build, so there's plenty of room to experiment.

I agree, one of the worst thing in souls games is how you use the same weapon the entire run.

How about removing weapon upgrading, and instead have hard to unlock mastery levels (through quests and secret rewards) that will increase damage with every weapon?

There's no reason not to with how many runes you get. If you start the DLC at like 130-150 you can easily get to 180-190 just from all the random bosses that give you like 200k runes.

ER's optimization is kind of weird, it's like everything only really needs your CPU and all graphical settings barely change anything (not even the resolution), but because of that you can run it on almost anything somehow.

ER has a lot of low-requirement spells and unique weapons that are mostly physical scaling but have minor int/fth requirements. I'd say it's just as important to have a little bit of int or faith on a physical build as it is to have a little bit of str or dex on a magic build. You can go full-on hybrid too, all magic is happy to have some dex for faster casting speed and there's an incantation seal specifically for str/faith builds, as well as other casting tools for other oddball stat spreads.
