Based pick. Aria of Sorrow and Order of Ecclesia in particular had god-tier tracks. "Heart of Fire" still slaps even in the GBA chiptune version. Yamane went absolutely feral during the DS era.

These guys are hella overrate. Plug walk was their only good video. They should have just copied that flow for their other videos. But no, they don't do that. No sense of composition. All they know is to lazily croon over everything.

Neon White. Quality tracks across the entire OST and quite different most games.

That's the problem I'm pointing out. Their covers are very basic. Musicians with compositional skills can cover songs in interesting ways. We're on /v/, so there is a good chance you listened to a video game remix, and they covered the song by transforming it into a different genre or doing some jazzy improv or what have you.

In some videos, they have the gall to show the timeline of their audio editor like they're doing something there. Pathetic, honestly.

I'm just saying their overrated. Their covers are boring, but they're getting millions of views and hundreds of thousands of likes per video.

People just enjoy seeing that type of shit. Random white dudes with an old aesthetic singing rap songs together. Not something you see on Tiktok all the time/I get that it’s not your thing but it shouldn’t be hard to see why others like it, ya know?

No I get it. They're "quirked up white boys with a little bit of swag". That doesn't mean their covers are *worthy* of the attention they get.

I also want to say that part of my passion is that I think they have plenty of talent, but potential is being wasted, because they're not leaning into that smoother sound that plug walk allowed them to perform.

I can see them doing something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1plPyJdXKIY

The rap verse is so smooth, it's like he's crooning. And then the other guy is singing, but it's so casual, that it's like he's just crooning too. Both of the vocals are within the range of drewkey. They just need to put in a modicum of effort, in order to try and make it sound like this.
