My vote goes to Isabelle. An ugly forced character that stole Tom Nook's place as the mascot of AC.

It's Steve. He literally broke the game and was never properly patched. His removal from the game would be a genuine improvement to the longevity and lifespan of the game. Right now, the best people can hope for is Ultimate getting some sort of Update treatment for Switch 2 which also comes with a few balance updates to the game that nerf Steve into the ground.

Snake and Sonic would have been fine if third parties stopped there. Their inclusion made them feel like guests at Nintendo's house. It was smash 4 where they went full gaming hall of fame retardation instead of Nintendo's All Stars.
