Microsoft needs to port the Master Chief Collection to PS5 and Switch 2, enable crossplay with all 4 platforms, and say goodnight to the Halo franchise. Halo went from a legitimate cultural phenomenon to a joke.

They do need to port them at some point because the Xbox as a platform is having some very rough times and they've already bent the knee on publishing outside of their ecosystem

Halo can survive, but the issue is how directionless the studio is and how openly shameless they are by focusing on monetization instead of delivering more stuff to do in their shitty game

Not everything 343 did was ABSOLUTE shit, they just handled it so badly it became worse than that, but there are a few cogs moving in that machine

I'm mostly on Xbox, and I want this. They can't make Halo games anymore. They can't make shit anymore. If enabling crossplay on as many devices as possible keeps Halo 2 and Halo 3 alive in some compacity, do it.

I've only been on MCC a few times in the last couple years. Finding more people to play these games with is the very reason I want them on PlayStation. Microsoft is killing this series, and the sheer amount of people on PlayStation are the defibrillators.

This will not save Halo, a new MP-only game could potentially save Halo but COD exists, a spin-off game not starring Master Chief cannot save Halo, only a Master Chief game, whether those are remakes or new games, can save Halo and it must be on PC, Switch 2, and PS5. Halo can no longer take risks or rely on old games to save it, it's over.

I want it to happen because I know that my Xbox 360 wont last forever and as much as the PS5 is memed as a formerly two games console I actually really do like the controller and I think Halo would play great on it.

Its a dead IP. Microsoft should have axed 343Industries years ago, but unfortunately they chose to keep the clown show going for well over a decade.
The only thing going for Halo is the modding community on MCC, outside of that its a complete joke. I dont even have Halo 4 installed on MCC either because it fucking blows.

Microsoft executives were debating whether to close down 343 so maybe there's some hope after all. They could finally put an end to this nightmare.

you can find the occasional game but it takes time, that and in H2 cases especially for the og version all the players are some of the sweatiest tryhards so every match is a one sided stomp, in other words you are either getting carried hard by your team maters plowing through the enemy or you are getting raped hard by the enemy team

Did you just completely miss what happened today. If anything, they're going to kill off any character that isn't Chief or nuTana. They already have AI prepared to replace Steve Downs and Jen Taylor. Killing off Chief is a risk, and if you're make a risk today, Microsoft is shutting you down. Today's layoffs permanently killed Halo spin-offs and non-Chief games. No one is safe anymore. They will also not reboot it because that's also a risk, you saw what happened to Perfect Dark.
