This.
These games didn't magically stop being fun or good. You just lost the ability to enjoy them (temporarily). Sort yourself out and you'll be able to enjoy them again.

I have the magic medicine but you aren't gonna like it. Go clean your house, wash your car, make a good meal, work at a job, anything productive that isn't video games. You will come back with fresh eyes, feeling like you accomplished something and deserve your spare time.

Props, in that case you might have slight burnout issues, your brain is on all day fixing all that shit and might want to turn itself off. Do you play a lot of "cerebral" games that require you to think a lot?

I play mostly fightan, but I was trying other genres, revisiting old games and such.
I wanted to give Elden Ring DLC a try but I just cant. Not that Im not familiar with the genre, I beat all the souls, sekiro, etc.
I dont even feel like playing fightan either btw.

The man is a hero trying to bring new life into the world while not forgetting to (at least try to) enjoy his own life. He is producing value which is moral to do.

Some of it could be a lack of "one mindfulness". Try focusing on just the experience, no streams or distractions, no extra activities. Pick a game, disregard all other things, even maps or tips, and just play the game.

The very best thing about VR games is that you pretty much have to pay this way. Headphones with the set, and you will be fully immersed, and can just play the game.

Could also be a lack of interest in the game you play. Instead of buying into the hype and consuming the slop, choose something that actually is fun. Many games are just tasks and busywork, or loaded with filler and "content" (a word I despise now), and not purely about the game.

Simplify if you can. Nothing fancy, just back to the basics. A nice 2d platforming game or adventure, or something else that isn't pretending to be deep with artificial layers like most strategy games.

You can also just walk away. Try a week without games. No mobile shit, no 4chan because this will rot your attention span. You will be back, we will be hare, n the meantime, do something more paced and less short term gratifying.

I see, those all seem like high tension games. I used to play dota in my college years while it actually pissed me off to no end because of the constant high tension. Now I play D&D Crpgs with a pause button and it's way more chill.

Over the last 10 years i lost all tolerance for unfinished games. Up until 2012/2013 the industry made games that were like 90% finished. Some small DLC over the first couple months and some patches but in essence the game was done. Maybe an expansion a year later. But the industry has shifted more and more to 'minimum viable product' system where they release a broken and half finished game and spend the next X years fixing it.

I'm the kind of guy that picks up a game, plays it all the way through once(or twice if it significantly branches/expands in a ng+ mode) and move on to the next. I don't replay games, i just don't. I don't rewatch movies or TV shows either. I expect the game to be the best it ever can be when i buy it. The games that i like are so insanely rare that i can either play it as it comes out or play nothing at all. Pic related.

I don't like Souls games or any form of ongoing/live service game. My perfect games are story driven and character focused singleplayer games (RPGs) with a grounded story, edgy tone and third person shooter or sword fighting combat.

But all the companies that used to make games for simply stopped. Ubisoft is in the shitter, Eidos Montreal is gone, Crystal Dynamics are off in lalaland, Bethesda takes a decade to make a game, Capcom is extremely hit and miss, Bioware hasn't made a good game in like 13 years.

And indies aren't any better. They keep their games in early access forever because they plan to never stop working on them. They all got the feature creep bug.

My man, the trees were pruned back in autumn and there isnt much else to do around the garden besides maintaining the pool, an occasional sweep, and watering the plants.

What i'm saying is you have to refine your tastes to the point that there just aren't any games that you want to play and when one does come out that is for you, you're basically so starved of vidya that you don't want to stop playing. Unless the game is just dogshit of course.
