The world was probably smaller than your average nu-GTA map(s), but felt more densely packed. There was shit to do and it all tied in with the underlying vibes of 90s asian themed action movies, like the street racing, street fighting and what not.
I also like that gunplay wasn't the focus of how you did combat.
Story was cool, the romance shit was funny and all in all, I just had more fun playing Sleeping Dogs than with any GTA or SR game.
It's like DMOMM (or Vagrant Story), just a good game and one that deserves it's good ratings not for the franchise or it's name, but for it's qualities. Which is rare nowadays.
