I'm using a JVC TM-H1700G because all my childhood televisions were thrown away by my boomer parents and I got the former security monitor for free when my workplace "upgraded" to lcds. it makes me look like im a faggy retro retard but whatever.

I just use whatever tube TV, I don't really care. As long as I can sit at a decent distance from the TV it's good enough for me.

I use a small consumer grade CRT similar to the one I had in my bedroom as a kid, and I connect everything over composite just like I did for literally everything until HDMI came along.

Pic related is my collection, but it's an old pic so it looks a bit different now. Collection has grown a bit, and I've changed up the shelves to improve space.

I have to draw my curtains halfway to even see my TV during the daytime. I just bought it 6 months ago so it's definitely modern. I can see the TV with the curtains open but fuck me if I'm playing a game and the scene of the game is night time or somewhere dark.

I feel bad for zoomers who didn't buy a PVM when they were cheap.

I had shadow masks, I still have one on a small TV in another room, they're fucking dogshit. Anything that isn't a trinitron is dogshit, and growing up I had a trinitron anyway.

Shaders get you 95% of the way there anyway. I prefer playing a lot of games on my modern 43" 4k screen, because that's a 35" 4:3 screen, which is way nicer than my 20" PVM.

I did. My friend had one and it was the first style of TV I got to play the Sega Genesis on. I played Road Rash, Paperboy, and Sonic 1 that way. I didn't know what that type of monitor was called so thanks for posting it I guess. Might buy one now.
