I think the mid and late game environments for ff7 and ff8 are probably worse but I haven't done a comparison. I can just think of more standout scenes from ff9, even though I've played it the least of the 3. Ff8 did have things like lunatic pandora and esther. Ff7 by the time you've left the snow area you've seen most of the good environments feel like
