Visuals, writing and music are not integral parts of a video game, video games are art because of game design alone and also all art is entertainment.

Video games shouldn't be movies; whether they're art or not is a different matter and is up to each individual to decide.

I changed my mind on this recently. The anons presenting the argument that the game mechanics of Monopoly could be used to comment on our society was what convinced me on the fact that games, including video games, can be art.
Something like a military drone operator game with some story elements in there comes to mind as a possible modern example that could be financially successful as well.
