It's alright but a bit of mess. I hope you got the DLC because 80% of the main game is "THAT mission". Flight mechanics are better in the older games and the story is obviously rushed with some clear leftovers from early drafts.

use goldberg emu to get the DLC missions after you're finished with main story since they are really good

wish there was a bundle deal for the dlcs or something. i have the base game so might get the missions but getting the planes but not going to pay more than 10x the price of the base game for planes

Definitely at launch. Luckily they patched out 90% of the MISSILE VO. But it is still insanely frequent. Good mods to adjust.

The main game is mediocre but the DLC missions were great.

My favourite Ace Combat moment of all time was in the last level of 5 when I pulled off some sickretarded corkscrew maneuver to line up my second volley of XMAAs, all 8 land perfectly, and I kill all 8 of Grabacr and Ofnir in like 6 seconds after they appeared. It was fucking nuts.

I don't hate the shoot down giant setpiece missions but duels against aces are where the series really feels at its best
preferably not against gay drone aces though because they don't quite have the personality to back things up

I played about halfway through and I thought it as really repetitive and boring. Almost every single mission throws some kind of annoying gimmick at you to try and hide this fact but it doesn't work.
