Do videogames even need a game over?

Because if you play card games or board games, a lot of them are like all players win coins until they reach the end of the game, and then whoever has more coins wins.

But that game has not a game over necesarely, they use a not winning strategy, but even the worse player still reaches the last turn.

You also can't technically lose watching a movie, reading a novel, watching an anime.
You get bored, but anyone can still reach the end without being forced to repeat the experience from scratch.

Youre not discovering anything cris.
Games are a ludic activity, the interactivity means they can be played well or poorly. And there are millions of games (vidya or otherwise) that handle the result of playing well or poorly differently.
It's all fine as long as you dont go full david cage "game overs are a failure of the game designer"
