It's good, but I think 2016/Eternal are more memorable. This game takes itself a little too seriously, wait for a sale honestly.

It was okay. Better than '16 gameplay wise. DLC might elevate it maybe, doom eternal dlc 1 is one of my favourite fps experiences ever. Music is just okay without mick. Story is whatever but nothing is unskippable. Gimmick sections suck and I'd take platforming segments over any of that. Liked the game enough to replay once.

Good, much more fun than Eternal. It feels good, guns are strong, I love giving Doomguy a stinger, enemies are all fun to fight. There's still room for improvement, the turret sequence is shit, it would be more fun to fight the Titan in regular combat, and parry is too easy (although the biggest threat is always being surrounded by enemies so you shouldn't be relying on it anyways).

Overall I'd rate it between 2016 and Eternal. And if it wasn't for the story being an Eternal holdover it probably would be tied or better than 2016.

I've been playing FPS for 30 years. It's good. Not as good as Etetnal, but I'll give it a 7.5/10.

I've played through it twice since release. It's a very repetitive game that never encourages you to get away from your comfort zone. By design, you can literally pick 1 gun and play the entire game with just it.

i'm going through it pretty slowly. It's pretty fun on nightmare with the speed turned to 140, parry reduced a bit on a controller. I give it a 7 out of 10 so far, on the 11th level.

Good points
>the gladiator guy is fun to fight
>projectile side stepping is fun as opposed to constantly going mach speed in eternal to dodge things
>open areas with exploration are a good departure from eternal
>the arena segments make you pay attention to the environment to take advantage of it

The bad:
>alot of touch enemies are exploitable and will sit around letting you blast them rockets are plasma if you're far enough
>tyrants will get stuck on certain walls and let you free shoot them
>tyrants are horribly designed and unfun, cause they force you to clear everything around them in a 60m radius before you finally literally stand still and fight (parry)
>check point system can put you an entire map length away from the arena you just died on - this is on those open area segments
>overall way too slow and simplistic if someone loved Eternal

I know that the only reason I give it this rating is because I'm not playing on mouse and keyboard which would make things way too easy.

This is definitely the most flawed new Doom, though I'm playing through this one faster than 2016 or 2020.

I found him really annoying for the amount of times I'd be right up in his face and he'd still do the projectile attack instead of letting me shoot him.

this is the only thread of it i've seen this week. it's not in the top 100 steam chart anymore. left 4 dead 2 had more players even at doom's launch. it's like a rerun of seinfeld getting more views than the superbowl. it's such a huge flop it's already forgotten. when eternal came out everybody was talking about it, making memes about filtering people and sharing the music for months

Yeah Eternal was and is one of the best FPS of all time. DA is merely ok.

kinda sad how this game got forgotten so quickly and now with microsoft burning in flames probably we will never have anotther doom in the near future.

Absolutely. It's wild how much his music elevated the mood. The new soundtrack just kinda fades into the background. Mick's stuff made you feel like a demonic god with a shotgun. Now it's just... okay. No punch, no hype, just ambient metal wallpaper.
