>young americans spending much less on gaming this year
And this is with the Switch 2's big launch. Why is the video game industry dying?
โGoyim? The sales data isโฆ a little troubling. Where did our loyal, precious goyim go?โ
Itโs fucking creepy and illegal to track people like this
>>714386368 (OP)None of the broccoli zoomers want to end up looking like those faggots in that image. Laudable, really.
>>714386368 (OP)we spend all our money on groceries and have like $10 left over to spend on old shit on sale on steam
>>714386368 (OP)man they really love painting men who enjoy hobbies as absolute losers
>>714386631anything a man does that isn't providing for tyrone's babies and paying taxes that go towards israel is cringe and childish.
Obviously the solution to this is to resurrect once beloved dead IPs for the nostalgia draw and then turn them into microtransaction-filled GAAS slop.
Low quality control in multiple major releases has decreased consumer confidence. Publishers actually picked a pretty stupid time to try and increase prices.
>>714386368 (OP)But that a good thing; videogames are just the new television: a mindless, braindead consumerist timewaster.
>>714386368 (OP)>younger americans>posts a picture of balding men in their 30'sHuh?

>>714389072No that's being on social media. You know that thing you're doing right now
>>714386368 (OP)Maybe if young Americans were paid a proper wage they could afford to buy things instead of living paycheck to paycheck with massive debt

The industry knows its only boomers buying the AAA single player games and thats why they upped the price to 80 bucks. As they now have a smaller market but are charging that smaller market more money to make up for it. Like this pic here. Its boomers who will be buying all these AAA games
>That's according to a report by The Wall Street Journal, which used data from market research company Circana to analyze the spending habits of young Americans.
>While spending was down 13% across the board from January to April 2025 for 18- to 24-year-olds โ particularly on accessories, technology, and furniture, which fell by 18%, 14%, and 12%, respectively โ video game spending saw the largest fall. This is not a trend observed in older age groups.
>Spending also dropped in the categories of prestige beauty, clothing and apparel, and sports equipment.
>The WSJ posits that "a combination of economic challenges is driving the decline," with graduates struggling to find employment and credit card delinquency rates highest for 18- to 29-year-olds.
>"Young grads are having a much tougher time finding jobs," the report reads. "Student-loan payments are restarting for millions of borrowers. Over roughly the past year, credit-card delinquency rates have risen to their highest points since before the pandemic, and are highest for those 18-29, according to the New York Federal Reserve."
>It's worth noting that the time period featured in the study does not include the June launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, which will boost the figures. And next year's launch of Grand Theft Auto 6 is expected to set records for consumer spending not just on video games, but all of entertainment.
>Meanwhile, the cost of gaming has gone up, with some publishers moving to $80 for video games, consoles rising in price, and in-game monetization becoming more aggressive. Circana's Mat Piscatella took to social media to say people are still turning up to play video games, "but engaging more with free-to-play on devices they already have access to."
>The report comes at a time of great instability across the games industry despite record profits. Around 2,800 game devs have lost their jobs in the first half of 2025 alone, on top of 14,600 cuts in 2024, and 10,500 in 2023.
>>714390956>That 2025 figure does not include yesterday's shocking news that Microsoft plans to lay off around 9,100 people, with some of the cuts hitting Microsoft's gaming business. It laid off 1,900 staff in January 2024, then made further cuts just a few months later when it closed Redfall developer Arkane Austin and Hi-Fi Rush developer Tango Gameworks. In September 2024, Microsoft cut a further 650 staff from its gaming business. And in May this year, Microsoft cut an eye-watering 6,000 staff, or 3% of its entire workforce.>In the same message that informed staff about the cuts, Xbox boss Phil Spencer said that he "recognize[d] that these changes come at a time when [Xbox] have more players, games, and gaming hours than ever before."
>>714390956>people are still turning up to play video games, "but engaging more with free-to-play on devices they already have access to."lol zoomies are all brown and poor.
>>714390923Only game here worth buying is Metroid prime 4
>>714391249ok but the point is that zoomers are not buying any of those games at all. it's only people in their 30s and 40s buying AAA games. Zoomers just play free to play games or online games.
Imagine being a zoomer and your only experience with games is with free to play slop and that's all you've ever known and you think that's just what games are
>>714386368 (OP)majority of games being pumped out aren't worth buying simple as
>>714386368 (OP)If you get Mario Kart or Splatoon or just play fortnite and shit you don't need a billion games, that's why. People can have fun more or less for free as soon as they got the equipment/games
>>714390956>"but engaging more with free-to-play on devices they already have access to."
>>714389356But they have superior rizz
>>714391636>buying just one game and playing that one gameThose kind of people are boring as fuck and I do not wish to associate with them
You can game like a fucking king for no money at all if you delve into emulation
boomers told zoomers to spend less on things they didn't need and now they're freaking out that multiple industries are dying?
>>71439143780 dollars is a huge asking price for shitty games. I don't know what to tell you I'm 34 and I'm not buying any of that either
>>714392165playing gachaslop and ritualposting isn't a personality zoomie.
>>714386368 (OP)For me personally I just have no time.
I'm more worried about my economy and health than vidya at the moment. I still play games pretty much everyday for around 1 hour, cannot play like when I was a teenager and I could do 14 hour sessions.
Life is just fucked.
Basically the industry was getting really close to total control over young people and then let trannies and fags into the industry who completely ruined it
>>714392276You're incredibly delusional if you think it's zoomers ritual posting on this website
>>714392498says right there zoomers overwhelmingly play f2pslop like gacha. gacha has zero appeal to millennials.
>>714392913What does that have to do with ritual posting on 4chan?
>>714393081zoomies playing gachaslop do the most of it.
>>714386368 (OP)i'm not younger but at 36 i spend less money on vidya now than i ever have, and still play a lot
i just pirate mostly everything single player and only buy multiplayer stuff on sales
console gaming seems very expansive is the long run
Whats going to happen to AAA single player games when boomers lose interest in games and zoomers are in their 30s? Is everything just going to free to play shit?
>>714393671>Is everything just going to free to play shit?Kind already is.
>>714393212It's 100% of 1000% not zoomers doing the autistic ritual posting on 4chan it's mentally ill people that have been posting on this website since early 2010s, bots, and paid shills. barely any zoomers even come here
>>714386368 (OP)Guy in the dragon shirt is staring at the camera like he knows people are mocking him but won't do anything to stop it, curious
>>714393837What did this look like on steam in the past though
TF2 is a free to play game and I imagine that probably made up a chunk for example
Is csg f2p? No I think it cost 15 bucks right? I honestly don't remember
>>714386556>>714386631No one is doing this to men who like to workout or do woodworking even if they aren't conventionally attractive
Like how do you even track this gay ass statistics.
I saw this on Xitter. People were blaming $80 games, but is buying a new game at full price something you do with any regularity? Maybe 3 for me in a packed year. How much does that contribute to your "yearly gamer spending", which is something I don't track but I know varies wildly. Some years I hit up the game convention circuit and drop $1000 on rarities. Some years I spend nothing at all and just do the backlog. Some years I drop $500 in Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune (when another doomed to fail arcade opens).
New games going up a heckin ten dollarinos is the most inconsequential shit.
>>714394162Working out and woodworking are manly hobbies. They are seen as the hobbies of desirable men even if you can go to your local gym and see mostly unattractive men.
>>714393897>barely any zoomers even come hereflatout delusional thinking. you can always spot a zoomie because they have the most dogshit opinions on everything and they took over the site a long while ago. wasn't millennials who spammed soijaks and it's overwhelmingly zoomies who spam the reddit frog. that's all they think memes are, well those, giga chad, and porn.
>>714391636this
live service games are sucking up all the players
>>714386368 (OP)I think it's the maturation of a digital vidya environment. Niggas aren't keeping only their favorite games and trading in other games for new shit so they have libraries of great games they've played a lot of, the libraries just build and build and build and eventually you realize that you only need to purchase games on your schedule. If you want to buy it new while it's a hot topic, fine but if you want to wait three years for it to cost you 20 bucks that's fine too and a lot of people are doing that.
>>714390923Geee it's almost as wanting people to be poor and childless means less people buying your products. By now millennials should have had 3 kids consooming but nope
Entertainment will be dead as soon as last zoomer is too old and millennials dead
>>714386368 (OP)Because even normalfags are getting sick of shit games and have figured out that they can just play fun games indefinitely.
>>714394162people make fun of short or ugly men who lift all the time.
>>714394162>No one is doing this to men who like to workoutOMG did that man look in my general direction for 0.001 second while I'm in my work out thong doing my sexercises?!? FERAL FERAL FERAL FERAL!! Bro where have you been in the last 15 years?
>>714392276Why should kids pay for online and 80 dollars? PC games are way cheaper and free online, and even the last phone can emulate PS3 games now
>>714386368 (OP)The only people buying and playing single player AAA experiences are people between 30 and 55. The younger demographic does not and has never played as many video games as that age bracket. They prefer streaming, and if they play games it is a very small group of live service games.
>>714394630zoomies are almost 30 sir.
>>714390481Social media has and will continue to do far more time wasting and overall harm than anything vidya has ever done.
>>714394676Yes, and like most 30 year old men, they lost all interest in vidya 15 years ago.
>>714394696We aren't talking about social media; we're talking about videogames.
Trying to deflect simply proves my point.
>>714394676Even worse anon, no point in wasting money in expensive shit
>>714393671>when boomers lose interest in gamesi don't think so, we're going to enter an age of gaming boomers before you know it
once millennials hit that age you better believe retirement homes are going to be 24/7 LAN parties and golf courses will be empty
it's gonna be weird
>>714394863>golf courses will be emptyTurned into tenement housing you mean.
>>714394339>Blame literally everything on zoomersI'm 34 you retard stop blaming everything on the stupid kids you sound like a literal boomer. the vast majority of this websites traffic is melienial/gen X zoomers don't come here on mass

It's a sad life, but whatever.
>>714394339We get it you feel old and you hate younger men
>>714395153>zoomers don't come here on masslike i said you're genuinely insane if you think more than half the posts here come from people older than 25. this site would be significantly more laid back if zoomers were locked out.
>>714395221Unless you are living in a mansion or california, you are shit with money. I make half of that and live comfortably.

>>714395221bro you are millennial if your 30 already zoom zoomes born at the beginning of 2000 they would at most be like 25 by now
>>714395181>Still trying to deflect while placing words in my mouth I never saidDo you realize you sound like a drug addict defending the addiction he destroyed his body and mind with?
Videogames are digital cocaine; there is no way to deny it
You're glued to a screen hours and hours consuming someone else's product, a product that doesn't do anything positive to your body and mind.
>>714386368 (OP)ya, games cost 25% more this year.
>>714389238Read the words on the picture. The Switch 2 was for old fags

Im not sure honestly. I know gaming is an empty "hobby" but so is TikTok and social media addiction, its not like zoomers are going to be better off in their 30s.
>>7143956084chan has been full of extremely low quality posting since it's inception where's your data?

>>714396025No games like apex and rivals has done this. Fortnite and Rivals make a ton because they know how to price cosmetics to be a reasonable price so players are more willing to spend a bit here and there which ends up being more than a paid game in time
>>714395921Maybe I wasn't clear. This is a good thing. I've been checked out of the scene for years and it's good the next generation is getting wise early. I was memeing on articles of the same variety that were targeting my generation at that age. They weren't concerned about why we did anything and anything we did was destroying something.
>>714396060Probably happier if the went to the gym and made an effort to have at least some sort of pussy on their arm.
>>714395431Why are u even here anon?
>>714395773this. the zoomers i know that are jobless and still in school are spending what little money they have on league of legends and valorant; the zoomers i know with jobs are spending money on those even more so. the title is misleading because zoomers refuse to buy AAA slop, yet microtransactions on a moba is like crack to them. sometimes they'll dump the price of a single AAA game on one microtransaction. these executives just don't understand what types of games zoomers want; they are brainrotted and neee games that keep them angry and engaged, not relaxed and pacified.
>>714396274>the next generation is getting wise early. by getting addicted to f2pslop?..

>>714396446Eh, I seriously doubt that any of the gens after X could have done half as well as the boomers if placed in the same situation.
>>714386368 (OP)Most don't feel like they have the money to spend on entertainment, so they focus on F2P games, cheap indies, or games that can last for hundreds of hours.
The people comfortable with spending money still don't feel like they have the time to spare, so they focus on various live services where they can do their 15-30 minutes of dailies and turn it off.
These groups will only buy single player AAA when it's successfully pushed as the next cultural sensation.
>>714396229been here since 2008 try again
>>714396446>>714396504I'm a millennial but the beef between millennials and zoomers is millennials jealousy towards zoomers timing. Millennials had the golden childhood but we also were fed lies by boomers so most people my age wasted their prime and didn't realize everything was rigged till their late 20s, while the smarter zoomer realized it in their teens and so spent more time having fun and trying to make money over a fake dream
>>714386368 (OP)I've been just emulating older games these past couple of years. Literally nothing new that has come out interests me at all.
Pic unrelated.
>>714395431You said that vidya was this century's main consoomer. Thats objectively wrong, its total market share is 300 billion and is beaten out by the likes of fucking make up, which is consoomed almost excluaively by women. Social media is the consoomer paradise because it encompasses all hobbies and there are engire industries built around harvesting data.
You are objectively wrong and dont like it, so you cry abojt deflecting. It isnt deflecting, its presenting a counter argument. One that you cant refute. Try looking at the data before making retarded claims.
>>714386368 (OP)They spend their money on Twitch subs and cheers

>>714386368 (OP)I don't think it's because they're unwilling to. It's because they're unable to. We've crossed the Rubicon where the mentally retarded and terminally jobless no longer have disposable income to waste on toys.
>>714396874Dunno, they seem to watch more anime and take life less seriously
>>714396801nah literal boomers still hate millennials. i don't even think zoomers or gen x register to them.

>>714396943Thats hilarious. Anon, they "watch" anime like how they are a "fan" of vidya they watched a streamer play. Also the "taking life less seriously" thing is something every generation does. Millenials were doing this 20 years ago. Zoomers are already slowly becoming pissy and jaded. Alphas will be the new "we totally dont care xD" generation making fun of zoomers for their receding hairlines in about 5-8 years.
>>714397015>or gen x register to themBecause they know they can leave us alone and we'll be alright.
>>714397096They had the civil rights movement, the cold war, vietnam, aids and various other crises and also everything the generations younger them had to go through too. All of the people that think boomers fucked up so hard well I've seen your characters and I remain unconvinced you would have done any better.
>>714386368 (OP)Iโm not young. But Iโm still spending less. Too much slop. Too many overpriced games (looking at you Mario Kart.) Very little quality control. I just wait for steam sales now. I used to buy most games on day one, now itโs incredibly rare that I do.
>>714397215Sometimes you have to just pick up a game and give it a try. Not for Those prices though. When they're on sale for a quarter of the price.
Like, I just got the Last Alone in the Dark, and it was actually kind of cool. Full price, it would have been a rip off, sure.

>>714397232>no see boomers have all the wealth and all political power but this is millenials fault for not being able to change the laws that boomers literally have full control over and can openly sway politicians with brcause they have all the moneyHow do you propose we do anything to change status quo outside of murdering boomer politicians and turbo wealthy constituents? How come gen X and zooms get a pass despite being in the same situation? Hm? Dont speak about shit you know nothing about you fucking retard.

I work in the tabletop industry and its mind boggling watching people around me say "we need to raise prices, our products are worth more and costs have increased for us!" while offering nothing in return. The people who won't buy it at those prices will wait, just like they would with a $60 or $40 or even $20 game, because they know it will go lower later. The only people buying in at those high prices early are rich or stupid people and that's the perfect target audience for $100 games.

Actual 24 year old zoomer here. I got into some shitty retail job around summer of 2023 (before that I had a seasonal job and then a agonizing fast food job). The money quickly dried after the holiday season so I getting paid $60 per day on a 2-day work week (it eventually become 1 day per week and then none/1 day per 2 weeks lol). Fell into a bit of a depression when the job market dried up in 2022-2024 so my active buying of games at full price halted completely aside from a few games I'd buy here and there (also steered my attention to college a lot more as well). I played a lot of emulated games to make up for that time though. I recently got a cool substitute teaching job last month where I get paid $175 per shift and I was able get a Switch 2 + MKWorld last week. I'm doing a lot better now and I forward to buying games again like DK Bananza, Shadow Labyrinth, etc but a lot of ppl my age are less fortunate with no/shitty jobs that pay like crap and school loans raping them up the ass.

Nor can you score a cheap lease and start a business because of the property bubble.
The property bubble is the number 1 driver of the failing of the US economy. People like Donald Trump, real estate and mortgage brokers.
Requiring such large amounts of capital startup compared to the amount of yield they will likely get from their venture is a MASSIVE impediment to economic growth. We shouldn't need government investment to get over that barrier. The issue is clearly the property bubble, rent prices, etc. Just look at how dead NYC is and how reliant places like Australia are on things like minerals and resource industries now because of this shit restricting manufacturing development. That and having to compete with China, which used to have a relatively cheap capital startup ratio. Nowadays it's starting to need more and more and more help from the government and they seem to be seeking more and more parasitic debt trap practices to leverage that shit nowadays.
India is already in the poo from sheer overpopulation. They've barely started and it's already fucked and they rely so much on western investment which is leveraged now through ESG in the workplace in the west.

>>714408281>That's why we stopped colonialismlol, only a propaganda-addled pig could post this comment. the west ended overt colonialism because it is a huge undertaking, having to take over and run somebody else's country. they adopted neo-colonialism because they realized it was easier to simply control the leaders of other countries, realizing the same benefits while only having to pay for one person's election campaign. which is how we got to the current system of CIA interventions, police actions, color revolutions, and "aid" conditioned on political subjugation... or else get regime changed. it is really only very recently, with the rise of BRICS and other non-western, non-puppet powers, that many of these colonialist links have been exposed in the mainstream, such as with west africa and france. most notably are the SEA countries which are now starting to break away from US puppetmasters toward self-determination over issues of trade with china, and those that don't are nonetheless exposing the deep influence that the US still has over them, like the marcos family fortune (stolen from the phillippine public) being held in the US while the marcos presidency canceled BRI programs that would have been fundamental for expanding the phillippine economy (whose people are poorer than sri lanka) and instead invited the US military to expand its presence there.
or for example in europe there was a "managed election" in romania where the actual winner was disqualified and then barred from running in the do-over because he was sympathetic to russia, which was not even true, he is a romanian nationalist, which meant that he was anti-colonialist and thus anti-western at least in their dealings with his country, and that was the real problem for the glowies.

>>714412456The profits in colonialism used to be so massive they funded near suicidal companies to the dutch east indies that regularly killed their own men.
Those profits relied on direct control, but also on a monopoly on the market and substantial home demand and a flow of liquidity to feed this.
At some point, the development of these colonised states reached a point where it was no longer as cheap to exploit this colonial market. Things like overpopulation made it substantially more difficult to make a good yield off of these markets.
I very much doubt indirect influence of states is yielding as much as you say. This, from memory, was part of the reason why even financiers were annoyed with the US's meddling in foreign states. That must have cost a fortune and it likely ruined their economy and any potential market to export to.
China is going to find out, the hard way, why they are making a mistake. To see the west just mimic them in the last decade or so is absolutely baffling - have we not learned anything?
But then you think in terms of national strategy (military) and it all makes sense then. Add the MIC and it gets worse. The pharma industrial complex is a new emerging one too. Same with the tech industrial complex. All these things are now using the national strategy reasons to encourage this practice. Overall, it is a negative impact to the economy in a diversity sense. It might start to resemble a banana republic economy GLOBALLY, which is a terrifying thought. It was already bad enough with our gold and spice obsessions in the past.
It's also leverage by a ever growing pull of debt securities that are never ever going to be paid without a debt clearance regime. This further worsens the divide between nominal and real values of things and makes your buck worth less and less. That in turn also worsens the ability to diversify the economy and to let people do what they want to do.

>>714386368 (OP)everyone's spending less on everything that isn't essential
because no one has disposable income
>>714417573By golly they were willing to work those minimum wage jobs and pull themselves up by their bootstraps unlike the lazy generation today.
And that is why as a boomer I always vote to make things as difficult as possible for those who come after me because they need to learn the value of hard work.
>>714416929If I woke up as a gay histrionic retard I would probably rope, yeah.
>>714417620Once the boomers are gone, you are going to draw so much ire. Just saying. You had your chance to be graceful and reasonable but chose to piss it away.
>>714386368 (OP)At least better than spend more money on streamer or of whore

>>714418338If you think the 2008 "recession" was anything like covid and now the times we live in after covid then you are delusional. It is that simple.
zoomers gonna learn not to trust gen x
>graduated fall 2020
>havent gotten a job with my degree yet
well at least i can blame covid and AI for my failure
>>714418482Of course 2008 wasn't like that, it was an actual recession as opposed to a minor hiccup. You weren't alive and wouldn't know, whereas I was alive for both.
>>714418208I'm asked for my ID all the time. I personally don't care about how I look nor I took care of myself, it's just genetics.
In North Korea everyone gets free food and healthcare unconditionally
Their currency is worth basically $0 internationally
Meanwhile the "richest country in the world" is cutting SNAP benefits (food assistance) and sends billions to countries with free healthcare while telling their own citizens they can't afford it
Also homeless everywhere and people are paying over 40% the median wage for some of the cheapest housing
And being homeless or building your own shelter is illegal
>>714418805LMAO even
I was alive btw
>>714417532From the beginning until 1910, an ounce of gold was $18. Then Jewish fiat currency happened.
The USA could give everyone free housing, food, water, electricity, healthcare, and internet easily
They choose not to
Well, they actually do give some people free housing, food, and healthcare, they call it "prison".
In fact, they built Alligator Alcatraz in 8 days, proof that they could easily solve homelessness and housing struggles easily if they wanted to, but they don't
>>714416167>literal boomer remover pandemic>waaah we zoomers had it the worstEveryone had to live through covid you dipshit.
>>714418482>>714419018Zoomers have done the impossible and out-solipsisted boomers. If it didn't happen when you were conscious then it just wasn't real, kek.
So since the Covid downturn was the worst thing ever apparently, was it worse than the Great Depression that started in 1929, would you say? This should be a laugh
>>714419569>was it worse than the Great Depression that started in 1929,Right now in 2025 it is absolutely 100% worse than the "great depression".
The cost of housing + food is WAY higher relative to a worker's wage in 2025
And back then you could also just build your own house, pic related
Now it's illegal to be homeless and they'll even bother you over a tent
It's even illegal to feed the homeless in this fascist tyrannical capitalist shithole dystopia
>>714419569>was it worse than the Great Depression that started in 1929, would you say?Unironically yes. And its effects continue to get worse. But I guess we should just pull ourselves up by our bootstraps since you had it oh so much worse, right boomer 2.0?
>>714386368 (OP)There's no need to spend money on games anymore, the average Steam user has at least 50 untouched games on their backlog and a library with 200 games minimum (source: I made it up). You could spend a lifetime working on these without spending a dime on new shit, and I'm not even taking emulators into account.
>>714419435It is a lot easier to "live through" covid when you are 35 and have a career probably even a home, now isn't it?
>>714419569In the Great Depression, the ratio of average home cost to average wages was approximately 4:1. Using the data from 1939, where the median wage for white men was $1,419 and assuming a similar home price as in 1933 (around $4,000), this ratio is confirmed.
In contrast, the ratio in 2023 is much higher. With an mean wage of $53,490 and a median home cost of $436,800, the ratio is approximately 8:1. This indicates that, despite higher wages, homes have become relatively more expensive for the average person today compared to the Great Depression era.
>>714398109Millenial here (43). It is incredible how being debt free when I finished post secondary has catapulted me past most of my peers. Many of my friends / neighbors are just now paying off loans and still live at home, in apartments with multiple room-mates, etc. Most don't own a car or anything significant. Whereas I have a house, a wife and son, a good vehicle, etc (and have had these things for 15+ years at this point). Crippling school debt has halted all of them.
>>714419904>>714420026lmfao, I honestly didn't expect a full bite on that one. What the FUCK are they teaching you little retards in school nowadays? like a quarter of households had NO wage earner and children would have to work sometimes despite child labor laws. But yeah the current 4.1% unemployment is worse somehow. kek
>>714421449It's a literal fact that workers are paid less in 2025 in terms of housing and food purchasing power
That's all that matters
That is the ONLY statistic that matters
How much does a house and food cost relative to worker's wage?
NOTHING else matters. Certainly not the fucking bullshit "unemployment" statistic.
>>714421272>Using the data from 1939, where the median wage for white men was $1,419 and assuming a similar home price as in 1933 (around $4,000), this ratio is confirmed.>If you take wages from a post-depression year and compare it against depression-era house prices...lmao.

>>714422154Is that not because the cheapest available meals are shitty fast food? Sure, you could make do with a big bag of rice and some similar bulk food with seasoning, but a lot of people don't even go home between shifts, so they turn to fast food because it's there.
