The original’s FMVs were made by an actual award winning artist who was involved with every aspect of the game and was significant to the original game.
The remake is 99% just some Poles who might be fans of SH2, nothing more. Of course the remake is naturally going to miss the mark on near everything about the game.

DESU the SH2 remake was still great, minus some lines not being delivered AS well as the OG, some cinematics were a bit worse, and the characters were uglier (minus James and Eddie to some extent). Music was a bit worse.
Everything else is much superior than the OG, and it's much scarier too

There actually were some parts I felt the remake did better than the original, mainly the interactions between Eddie and James. In the remake it felt like Eddie had more motivation for ultimately resenting and wanting to kill James in the end, mainly comments and actions James made and did that could be taken as insults (his comment about Eddie still having his appetite in the movie theater and turning down Eddie's initial offer to tag along but suddenly wanting to team up when it was beneficial to James). I felt like the boss fight was probably closer to what the devs initially envisioned as well, namely the second phase (granted the first phase is absent from the remake), a fight where two dudes are having a good old fashion shoot out in a meat locker using hanging meat for cover and concealment where every shot taken hurts like a mother fucker as opposed to a janky fight where you can easily just run up to Eddie and beat him to death with a pipe.

Simpson's-esqe cost productive play on old Hanna Barbara Sitcom design philosophies (have a central artstyle and repurposed premise easy to write episodes around). Matt Groening did it with Simpsons and Futurama, leading to Seth doing it with Family Guy, American Dad and Cleveland show, and later the Bob's Burger shows consisting of three that I can't be fucked to google.

If I told you early Family Guy (first 100 episodes) had decent, and even charming animation at times (albeit with flaws), you'd probably call bullshit. Even how the family acts around eachother is more subdued.
