What single other game does it that isnn't Dead Rising?
>>714396287
Nope. Those elements are what define it and make it GOOD AT ALL, kino at that. You want it's absence? Play the piping hot TRASH that is dead rising 4, legitimately the worst game ever made.

Recycled Shadow of Rome assets and beat em up gameplay shows just how good Capcom is at making money off cancelled projects and repackaging them.

It enabled replayability, so even if you 'fail' the time limit you can simply start a new game with all your character progress and map knowledge carried forward or keep playing around in the mall.
Just beating the game isn't particularly difficult, but achieving some of the challenges like rescuing all possible survivors is pretty damn strict.

Mizzurna Falls comes to mind, and that game is practically fucking impossible to get a good ending without a guide. Beautiful game, but actually playing it is annoying.

Survivors are no longer braindead is the biggest and best improvement, for a game that has a lot of escorting it helps a lot

Elaborate. The changes I'm aware of are largely downgrades and censorship. What was """wrong""" with the original?

Part of me feels like the survivors being insanely stupid to the point that you have to babysit them felt like part of the challenge and fit with the tiny theme that people are insanely stupid and will get themselves killed if you arenโ€™t there to help them. But thatโ€™s just me

just make the time limit big enough that players dont feel the pressure more than the fun

There's plenty of tedium in the game but they had a real good vision of what they wanted.
And that was John Romero's Dawn of the Dead and somehow they managed to clear the copyright fence by the hairs on their ass.

Back when it was new, I saw a lot of people go
>"dead rising would've been great if it wasn't for the braindead NPCs constantly running into zombies"
My brother in christ, if the NPCs could breeze through zombie hordes like Frank it would barely even be a game.

By making it so that you can use a sledgehammer to burst a survivor's head like a melon anytime you want
