I had so much fun playing Battlefield V as a kid. Its sad to see another great franchise end.

So now I won't play it just to check EA hubris.

Also - of course this is an impossible figure to achieve, EA wants DICE to fail. EA pulls this stunt every few years - give a company under their umbrella that's fallen out of favor with the trends some impossible benchmark to achieve, then they take about half their staff out back and pink slip em when it inevitably fails (sometimes they ol Yeller the whole company). Pretty common business strategy, in fact. You'll soon see this occur more often with all the big publishers.

Honestly that's an excellent counterpoint that I hadn't thought about - could genuinely just be arrogant and out-of-touch executives doubling down on the same old strategy that got them where they are in the first place.

But I still think that works with the plan I posted. They can write that money off as a loss for their investors and save money on their taxes. If the ship is already sinking as it is you might as well throw some money overboard by grossly over-reporting how much you spent. A good chunk of them have to be aware it's a stupid idea to invest so much in one game in a genre that's been in decline for years - at least someone is laundering money through battlefield, or at least I would be.

I'm honestly glad they are turning series into an infantry focused game. Domination/Rush layouts of the maps were literally CoD, extremely claustrophobic. Even Conquest versions weren't that big too and had like maybe 1 vehicle per team. Fuck vehicleniggers.
