The second is that digimon is a Tamagotchi at it's core. And that's a genre so niche you can count how many entries it has on your fingers. So you have to make it something else, but also incorporate elements of being a pet sim in that to make it feel like a digimon title. And there are people like me who whine that there are no games in the genre that can't break even.
