It's unironically my favourite Final Fantasy game and I recommend it to everyone.
But I also already have the 3DS original and don't really see a need to buy the game again. Though if I had more money than sense I'd probably buy it for the new minigames, but if I could buy a genuinely new game for that money then I feel like it's difficult to justify even though I super love the game.

Triangle Strategy is goty material. Gameplay, story and characters were great. Decision making matters and the multiple branches in campaigns are executed properly unlike 3H. The game doesn't allow you to grind and break the difficulty curve so people got filtered.

No reason to buy a physical release if it's a key card
No reason to buy digital unless it's on special

I don't have an answer for you, but I think people really oversell that aspect of the final boss fight. At the very least, it didn't make up for the fact that by that point I could kill him in a few rounds without taking any damage, so not having the gimmick ain't gonna hurt the experience.

3DS specially as both screens have different aspect ratios, so you can't even fit them on a screen without multiple black borders arround it.
There's a chinkheld being made specially for DS's aspect ratio though, and arcade I guess, but with 3DS you're kinda fucked to some autismo like using a drawing tab as the lower screen

I don't get the hate for BD2. It really isn't that bad. People talked like it was the worst shit ever and is just ok? Definitely enjoyed more than the time loop shit from 1. Second still is the superior game but i only cared for Magnolia. BD1 characters didn't feel like they had any reason to be in that game.

Japanese Edea is so much more chill, wheras English Edea is a ball of white-hot rage on this fucking genocidal revenge tour where she's determined to kill every single person she's ever known and loved in her life before she joined the party. like the 3 other party members have no connection to or interest in any of the bosses, but for Edea she's literally systematically hunting down every single one of her old friends and coworkers and executing them in cold blood. She's the only one who actually knows any of them and she's the only one who has a prior relationship and connection to them. She's the only one who's relevant to anything in the story to be honest, the other 3 may as well be faceless npcs. And Japanese Edea doesn't really lean into the fact that this is going on, but English Edea takes it really seriously, like she's in a Kill Bill movie or something. Tonally completely different experiences
