I literally quit the industry and went back to web dev because publishers kept forcing us to put gay shit into our games. Now I make stuff for an AI company and I don't like it but it's way better than being forced to inject literal cancer into something I love.

Why are they so heavily invested into Ziff Davis who happens to own IGN, Digital Foundry, Eurogamer, VG247, Humble Bundle, Nintendo Life, Push Square, Nexus Mods, and a bunch of other stuff related to games and gaming media?

It's because of that money and influence that these studios are like that. They paid good money to put those people in those positions. Ethics departments don't arise naturally.
