Having played RE0 and 7 back to back for my first time (0 on hard and 7 on normal because you have to unlock Madhouse first), I am absolutely shocked 7 is as loved as it is, when 0 was a much better paced game and just overall more inventive with some actually difficult puzzles (though I really don't understand the logic behind the animal lighter one and it's legitimately the only part of the game I'd say I didn't like trying to figure out). RE7 is literally and unironically for people too pussy to play Outlast 1 and 2 because "I'm murrican and need guns to feel badass and to make up for my tiny penis!"

Jack disappears way too soon and didn't really act like a stalker on my playthrough because I was too busy solving puzzles avoiding him (which to compliment Demake 2, Mr. X at least felt like when he had a bead on me, he was following me), then you get that embarrassing "YOU WANNA PLAY A GAME???" SAW shit. Margie was my favorite boss (but not segment because the shack and bugs were boring), but only because she was a clear rip from [REC], one of my favorite horror movies.

Also the ammo is way, way, WAY overtuned on Normal. (You can't play Madhouse until you unlock it which I'm not going to because the game sucks) By the end of the game I had over 70 shotgun shells and over 500+ MG rounds. Was the game made for retarded Japanese people who don't play FPS games generally? (Even though the game is pretty American feeling with the constant use of BITCH and the ugly female characters Mia and Zoe)

I can't believe such a mid, runs out of steam piece of shit, "saved da franchise", though I'm not surprised considering what killed the franchise in the first place (RE4)

It was, no joke, marketed to literal American Walmart shopping center normalfags, and it was waaay too many Piss4 fags' first "RE".

I was already sick and tired of the modern Amnesia-Outlast style FP run and hide shit with "Oogabooga ugly thing screams at ur face!" by 2017, and RE7 was literally a massive landmine of all the worst cancer trope of the 2010s.

The game is super linear, super cramped, you move extra slow, puzzles are kindergarten tier, and there is zero replay value. The only alternative "ending" literally boils down to one A or B choice, and only alters the last 15 seconds of the credits scene.

It really shows that Crapcum just quicky retooled their "The Kitchen" tech demo into a retail game, and slapped Biohazard's name on the cover.

You are right, and the game always gives you all the ammo immediately before a boss fight, thats because there are few mold enemies during the game, dropping the pretense of 'le scary survival horror experience' and killing the immersion. The final boss fight is pathetic and no, making Ethan a self-insert character is not the right move in Resident Evil. He barely reacts when Lucas kidnaps his wife in front of him. The only RE game that I disliked.

Great game but I don't like Ethan. One good thing about this game is that it's like one of the most open Resident Evil games, the early game is very railroaded, even more so than the other games. But when it opens up, it becomes more open than all the games that came before it.

Also to answer your first part, I did suicide runs.

For example, my first attempted playthrough, Billy got locked in and I had to fight the scorpion as Rebecca. (Big mistake)

Then I would make safety saves and play sections until I felt like I had a good idea of what to do. I'd say the longest replayed section until I got it right was post bat boss.

That's a really tough question, because "muh release order", because RE1 for example is still really great despite it's age, but REmake makes it a truly scary game and there's no denying it's quality.

OG 2 is an absolute must.

3 I'm a bit wary unless you know what you're doing. It's fairly difficult for newcomers and I remember having trouble with it coming off of 2 until I really dug deep into it with the ammo mixing and weapon spawns

To be brief, if you want to play the Wesker trilogy (as I have dubbed it), play Remake, Code Veronica (also a toughie) and then 5. Everything post 5 is pointless and 4 is basically a spin off with no real RE connections.

6 should be played if you're a fan of third person action games in general (and I kinda liked seeing a lot of the characters from the old games meeting up). 0 should be played if you really liked REmake and want more of it but also harder. (Like way harder)

Revelations 1 and 2 are utterly and completely pointless story wise, but 2's raid mode is fairly playable unlike 1, but again, Revelations 1 doesn't even lead into 2. These games are basically RE Gaiden 2 and 3 with how much relevance they have.
