It's okay.
I didn't hate the gameplay, you get used to the somewhat stiff controls. It's a sort of arcade shooter at its core.
The thing I didn't really care for was the repetition. There's a lot of trial missions I remember playing between story missions for currency to buy new stuff with.
It can kick your shit in at times pretty easily until you get used to its gimmicks. I think it's reasonably difficult.
Unless you are a big fan of what you are seeing on-screen gameplay-wise (moving a bit and shooting usually), you will probably get bored of the repetitive environments from the trials. The trials themselves are missable missions so you're encouraged to play them as you go. There's suits you unlock doing them.
Basically just emulate it. It's a neat but not terribly memorable game.
