Did you play through it on the PC version using all the enhancements?
If yes you can't complain as the PC version's enhancements trivializes the difficulty

They are different.
In case of OG you basically turn into a stationary turret while aiming while enemies circle you around taking turns attacking.
In RE4make you can actually get to move while aiming but enemies will also attack 10x more often.

They are the same as far as I know, but the PS2 has more content. The Wii Edition is the superior one of them all because it has the Gamecube graphics and extra content.

PS2 and later versions
>reduces enemy health if leon takes damage in the same room before they spawn, including some bosses.

>GCN version has difficulty adjustment but it only effects enemy behavior and drops, not their health damage or even spawn rate. Also, professional difficulty locks the game at the hardest difficulty adjustment for AI (and spawn rate for later games), while the enemy health and damage changes introduced in later changes exist at all difficulty settings and are tied to leon's health bar rather than to the adjusted difficulty.


PS2 specific
>fewer enemies are allowed to exist at once
>multiple areas have vastly different logic for enemy spawn timers/triggers in order to work around having less enemies onscreen at once
>the game often outright despawns existing enemies on the map during setpieces where a cutscene shows a wave of new enemies appearing
>a bunch of scenes trigger strangely due to generally low enemy counts, such as water room where it is possible to be on a low difficulty adjustment and cause only 4 enemies to spawn initially, which is low enough for the cutscene for the second wave of enemies to trigger the moment you approach the door and load the room

these two are entirely performance related, they simply couldnt fit as many enemies on the ps2 version
