Why do people care so much about fitgirl repacks in particular? There are so many groups doing repacks, and most take a fraction of the time to install compared to fitgirl's while only being a tiny bit bigger in size.

If you want an actual answer it is because of a few contributing factors. First off they have a pretty fast release for almost every major release out from the last few years. Second, their site is easy to reach and doesn't have any account blocks. Third, the lower file size means third worlders signal boost their releases a lot more than others. Combine this with sorting by filesize and seedcount means their releases easily get pushed to the top, despite the issues. A similar thing occurs with movies and yify releases.

>the difference in install time is about 10 minutes
>through some bizarre logic people are trying to bitch about this from the standpoint of having better tech
If you notice a difference, youre probably poor.
cs uploads to fucking 30 day sites all over the place and I am not using el amigos or dodis garbage websites unless I cant get something elsewhere and really want it now.
Ill never understand the feigned incredulity over people using the site. Also having no concept of data limits or mitigation. Yes downloading 40gbs is better than downloading 95gbs, no a 7 minute install isnt a problem. Ive tested about 120 games from their and every single one worked and I never had any le comand prompt or whatever other nonsense. Comments filles with shittoid children who can barely operate a keyboard, has nothing to do with the repack itself.
The actual problem is massive amount of picrel

>Yes downloading 40gbs is better than downloading 95gbs
I said a bit bigger. 95GBs would not be a repack. What I'm saying is while fitgirl's repack could be 40GB, other groups could have them at 45GB. The benefit would be a fraction of the time to install the game with a small increase of 5GB of download.

It's an extremely difficult and boring process. The skillset needed for it alone already filters out 99.9% of the population and then you'd still need the time and dedication to do it.

there's so many pieces of obtuse software that only a handful of people actually understand, and it's very rare that the individuals that understand are also willing to make tutorials/guides to ease others in to learning
there are a bunch of individual game hacking circles i'm in where there's only one of us who knows any given mechanic/asset logic etc., so any time someone wants x they either have to ask me or start at the very ground level learning everything on their own which is a dozens to hundreds of hours long process depending on what it is

>know how to
No, it's not a matter of knowing how to. Anyone familiar with cracking anti-piracy could crack Denuvo. The problem is Denuvo takes a brute force approach and basically has almost every-fucking-thing being checked constantly. Cracking Denuvo isn't a matter of working around some clever method they've employed, it's a matter of finding each and every nook and cranny where it's hiding and that is a monumental undertaking with modern games being as complex as they are. A lot of anti-piracy only has a few checks so it's easy to pinpoint exactly what needs to be done even if the method needed to get around it could be complex. Denuvo has tens of thousands of things you need to find and shut down. Nobody wants to put in the time to try getting around it because it's just not worth it.
