I love it for the simple fact that you can field heroes and have an entire army of just heroes.
Art style is great. Music is divine.
I do wish units were not just upgradable but also diverse in their upgrades (as in you can have crossbowman be a marksman or breacher (explosive crossbow+shield). I also wish hell and undead were properly separated, and thus there would be 7 army types.

Ubishit doesn't care about their small IPs.
I'm so bad at HOMM3. If I didn't even try and just played without thinking, I think I'd do better than when I actually try. I can't beat the computer even on the easiest difficulty.
I never know what I'm supposed to do. If I decide to make two heroes with strong armies, they both get screwed. If I try to focus on just one hero and make the others be like "scouts" or something, the computer seems to notice and completely screws me over.

>>714539359Compare the state of you and your enemies ranged and melee to decide whether to play offensively or defensively. Target fast creatures, creatures with high damage to health ratios, and creatures with annoying special abilities. Most creatures only retaliate once per round, so be tactical about who attacks what first. Having something very fast in your army so you get to cast the first spell is very important. Use the good cheap spells (blind, expert slow, and expert haste) every battle your ranged units can't otherwise win without losses, use whatever is best at the time with almost no regards for cost in actual battles.
