Having to cater to a wide range of resolutions means it's easier to just use simple frames for your menu.

People are incredibly rat-like and compulsive now. You have to design menus for people who are flying through the game for 40 hours a week blasting their brain with dopamine and listening to podcasts/streams on the other monitor
Turning on a game and appreciating each screen slowly isn't what people do anymore. Not only do they not doing the act of doing it makes them anxious and jumpy

I meant where you're supposed to click them. Like the exit corridor is only the door on the side and not the whole archway so finding it is a bit wonky.

I gave up after the """"stealth"""" mission where you're supposed scan stuff while avoiding patrols in a stolen alien ship, so I guess I never saw the second menu.
