this is why games will never be treated as a serious medium. gamers treat games like toys that need the latest versions to be playable.
you never see serious film or literature fans beg for remakes the way video game enthusiasts do, and if they do get remakes they usually get shit on and are seen as the cheap cash grab they are. for other mediums, it's understood that the work is a product of its era and good not despite but because of the rough edges inherent to the time it came out and the way it was made. not games though, they need to be updated like the latest iphone 21 pro maxx

Vice City has a good fan remake in the GTAIV engine though. Has cutscenes and everything. Got fucked over by Rockstar but other fans are still working on it.
