titanfall 2 lacked staying power >guns were unbalanced as fuck >abilities largely sucked except for stim and grapple >gamemodes besides pilot vs pilot or the regular mode sucked so only those two modes had players
after you put like 50 hours into the game you've pretty much seen everything there is to do. Every match plays the same so after the novelty of the movement system wears off there just wasnt much to do. Want to play with hologram + shotgun? Too bad bro get fucking lazered by a CAR in .02ms. Want to git gud with the kraber? Too bad bro some guy with a CAR killed you from across the map before your sniper round could even hit him. Want to use a heavy machine gun? Too bad bro some guy with a CAR has a faster ttk and 99% of the lobby is running it so you die way sooner than him.
I legitimately think if they nerfed the CAR and the other submachine gun so they werent hitscan and had proper damage falloff like literally every other gun the game would have had more staying power.

CAR wasnt that OP at release, didnt they basically nerf every rifle, but left SMGs OP as FUCK, and BAM - no point in using anything else than a CAR
TF2 was fucked by a shitty launch time, thats it
and then shitters got BTFO

people play BR no matter how slop it is for some reason or they did when BR was the new hip thing where titanfall was just a more fun CoD with mechs that released either without a campaign at full price which people hated or between two of the biggest FPS releases in the year so no one played it

Searching it up. >Apex Legends is generally considered a very successful free-to-play battle royale game, despite facing some challenges with player retention and competition from other games. It has generated significant revenue for EA, with over $3.4 billion earned to date. While it has seen fluctuations in its player base, it remains a popular title with a dedicated community and ongoing support from Respawn Entertainment.
Seems like a pretty big success.

Poor management, from what I heard
That's besides the point that most publishers are out to lunch as far as 'good games.' >Hi-fi Rush received critical acclaim >Devs still got shuttered by Microsoft >Microsoft just announced they're doing 'bretty gud' >Still shit-canned and/or shuttered studios to appease investors

The CAR's dominance is overblown. It definitely needs a nerf and it's undoubtedly the best gun in the game, but the Alternator, R-97 and Spitfire aren't far behind it and are still viable. Shotguns, snipers and grenadier weapons have their own niche as well, and 1-shot kill guns like the Kraber, Wingman Elite and EPG are absolutely still viable in pubs.

too niche
too hard for people to get into
released at the same time as a mainline BF entry >>714513536 >everyone sucks off Modern warfare 2 for this though
people played MW2 when they were 9, had a blast with their friends because they were kids and playing video games in and of itself is fun and then jerk off the game for all eternity because they haven't played it since. Either that or they were exploit using fags who enjoyed pub stomping
same thing happened with old TF2

nah I think crazy unbalanced shit is fun I think grapple in tf2 should have just been a baseline for everyone and you can add perks on top of that
>>714521698 >nah I think crazy unbalanced shit is fun
i dont think most people would agree, idk the specifics of ttf2 but (i was talking about team fortress in my post) but I think most people would rather have a game that's less annoying. MW2 is sort of balanced because there are so many busted things you can run but it leaves other styles of play completely out classed and you routinely get killed by exploitative bs
People are saying the guns aren't balanced when there are montages on Youtube of a guy stomping lobbies with pretty much every weapon. The problem is people used the OP guns and just mechanically sucked at the game so they never realized it's actually a pretty diverse arsenal, anything besides grapple or stim was definitely usually picked at your detriment though unless you were doing the bullshit HMG/shield build on console. As to why it failed, I think consumers are just retarded, the campaign was a blast and overperformed and the multiplayer was some of the most fun I had that year
>>714511568 >after you put like 50 hours into the game you've pretty much seen everything there is to do.
Same case in CoD too but people still play those games for hours and hours for some reason.

Because TF is just COD with big mechs and fast movement; everyone mindlessly zooms around the map and prays they can beam their opponent first.
Apex succeded by refining TF's gunplay and movement.
I just love how titan trannies always use CoD and BF1 as an excuse for the game failing >EA pours millions into Titanfall's marketing to make it a CoD competitor >Instant failure >Apex releases with little to no marketing when Fortnite was at it's peak as a Battle royale >Instant hit
>>714532380
oh boy it's almost like the maps are designed like fucking hallways with invisible walls that force you to run headfirst into hitscan niggers
kill yourself
>>714532691
if you want to keep feeding yourself to the woodchipper instead of doing something they're not expecting, like literally anything but flying down the corridor where they're aiming, go right ahead, dumbass

Literally the average Apex ranked teammate. Shrieking down their mic the whole match, no game sense, 200 damage max, and somehow still thinks he's the main character. Honestly surprised it took that long, Respawn's report system is the equivalent of a sticky note on a fridge.
