>>714517123I've been playing this game for a long time and the highest I've gotten is level 26. There's 30 in total. You kind of have to play it to see how fucking retarded it is. But here's some examples
It has some of the worst RNG I've ever seen a roguelike ever had. The kind that spams shit and encounters nonstop.
The caves towards the end (level 21 - 30) are fully dark with zero lighting and your latern only has enough fuel for like 1 level. Flares and light spells are rare
Actually for that matter only the rogue is the only good class (and only one particular build using that class to be exact) because he allows you to avoid combat. Every other class will not be able to beat the game. It's just really poorly balanced. No class or build is good except for being a stealth rogue. Funny thing is, I heard the dev say that playing the rogue is just so you can "get the first strike in". In his mentally retarded mind, you're supposed to engage in every combat encounter, despite the fact that this is a Lovecraft game and you have a sanity mechanic when dealing with monsters. Lovecraft games with sanity mechanics are usually built around avoiding combat but he actually expects you to kill every monster you encounter. It just doesn't make any sense. And these encounters are full of enemies that can one shot you in a single turn and are in large groups. No other class (There's 6 in total) can survive the game. It honestly should change it's name to rogue because that the only class you can beat the game with in the current version. I can't imagine playing the game with any other class
The game just really lives it's sucker punches which I wouldn't mind as much it just needs way better balancing and thought. The game has a great style and atmosphere. But of course like every other lovecraft game it has to be absolutely near dogshit or broken. It's starting to become a theme with games based on his work. I just want one good Lovecraftian rpg for once.
