The only way for Microsoft to even buy the time to turn things around, is if TES6 was actually, secretly, and magically ready to release in a few months, and Bethesda had actually, magically learned all the lessons they needed to in order to fix their shit, and makes a game that defines the generation.
Mind, this alone does not SAVE Microsoft, this buys Mincrosoft the time to save itself, by assembling new teams, and pumping out games like a motherfucker. If Microsoft completely restructured how they made games, downscaled to AA tier production for most of their games, and machine gunned good, reasonably priced games in the window that the miraculous birth of the TES6 revolution opened, Microsoft could survive and thrive.
As it stands currently, they're going the way of Sega. They hold a few notable IPs that will continue to chug along with minimal interference, and will occasionally license something out from yesteryear to whatever current darling of the industry comes asking.
