Especially if you're playing it blind, expect to have to refight your way through hallways over and over again as you re-explore loose ends that you couldn't access before due to not having the right powers. And the fast travel is so split up that half the time walking to your destination is just as fast.
Also I'm not a fan of leveling up, Ii prefer it Metroid style where you get stronger by finding power ups and items, not just grinding mobs for XP so you can get small incremental stat boosts.
But the game has insane personality and attention to detail, hidden items, things like secret weapons, voice work and level up abilities for your familiars, secret cheat code spells and other shit I had no chance of finding on my own, the game has so many hidden details that players will definitely miss on most playthroughs.
I went and watched Vampire Hunter D for the first time after completing it, I assume that's a source of inspiration because there's no way you come up with a game this soulful after making something like NES Castlevania.
