You genuinely need a guide starting out because nothing is explained in game. I just started a new run and got a refresher from this guide to get set up:

After you do that I'd recommend dicking around for a few days and maybe doing some light work on the car (again, look up a guide) and mainly trying to get some cash in since you'll need to take a lot of the car parts to get repaired as they're nearly broken.
Ginauz also makes a ton of good little guides on various aspects of the game and how shit works if you're ever confused on something.

Spend a few runs just driving around and learning the map, then a few more runs working on the car. There's no time limit for anything, so as long as you have food, you're doing well.
Consulting the wiki is necessary for some things, like troubleshooting the car or how to brew kilju, but generally you should at least try to figure shit out on your own.

you can only beat the game if youre finnish. if you had to ask how to beat it, you arent finnish.

put some custom music in the game with some loud bass so that when you finally get to afford a subwoofer it feels like an actual upgrade. i have a whole playlist of dance music.

i do the same thing with the custom car wrap, so that once you can finally afford it and wait for the work to get done, you show up and the car is actually wrapped (if there's no custom skin.png in the folder you can still pay him to work on it, it just doesn't show up until you have the png file in the folder; which feels gay)
