>>714553282i like them all too, ds3 is the least interesting to me but its still a cool action game and still has all the qualities that make fromsoft games feel better and be more popular/successful than typical fromsoft clones (though i think sekiro did the "more straightfoward action game" thing way better)
but i just genuinely believe most of the complaints about ds2 are a result of struggling/difficulty. it doesnt make sense for people to whine more about clunkiness when actions like jumping and sprinting are so much smoother with less delay, and when so many weapon attacks are faster/less caveman swinging into floor. It doesnt really make sense for people to say it has the worst hitboxes when its blatantly the one with the most forgiving hitboxes that are meant to let you dodge through the combos of every boss (except kings pets) (fuck ice stallions) without relying on much i-frames, moreso actual evasion
If the game had copious i-frames by default, bosses werent built around trying to make you dodge in the right direction, and the game didnt have this formula of "you get more fucked normal enemies but we give you 99x more crafting materials", most of these huge complaints about DS2 would cease to exist
