studios dont make games anymore. if you get bought by a big company there's no point, whether you make good games or not they'll probably still close your studio and fire you all when they feel like cutting costs

make great games like turn 10 or tango? you're still going to get laid off, they don't care. might as well just vacuum up the free money until it happens since no-one is interested in whether you can ship games or not

Microsoft have really fucked up the incentives when you think about it. If you're going to be randomly fired either way, then why put your nose to the grindstone? Making games takes an immense amount of labor from highly motivated workers. Once a studio starts coasting nothing is going to get done.

They don't seem to understand that if employees know that everything they work hard on will be scrapped anyway, there's no point actually working hard on it.
