You’re near literally me OP, I picked up FF6 a few weeks ago and played a bit every day until I got to the three scenarios. I finished Locke and the larger group’s but I just can’t be fucked to play Sabbin’s so I haven’t picked it up in days.


I don’t like the action timer or whatever honestly, it’s stressful - even if I can pause it by selecting magic/items - and I rush choices. My party will just suddenly be at double digits HP and I won’t notice because I’m just eying when I can make a choice + the total health isn’t shown alongside it so I lose my kneejerk sense of when a character is mid/low health. I can see why people loved this game back in the day but idk

The game starts offering more variety with summons and learning spells. You still pretty much bare at that point. For Sabin, either trust to the very basic Blitz attack with side presses and ince you reach Fire Dance, try make sure you able to pull it reliably for easy and free crowd attack. Cyan's Swrd Tech are meh, you are better off by simplying doing basic. For Gau I recommend learning Stray Cat rage for multihit basic attack

I had FF9 as a kid and I just ran around in the overworld killing things without even realizing you have to equip some skill gems and shit, I don't know if I made it past the first disc, these kinds of games are made for special kinds of turboautists or require a guide to get anywhere.
