How would you rank the games? Which ones are worth playing?

AAI2 is the best game in the franchise. And if you disagree, you're wrong. It's that simple.

I always knew about the series but never thought about playing it. What's a good starting point? Are the remasters/rereleases any good or should I stick to emulating the original games?

I wish I could understand what people see in AAI2 because I think it's probably the worst game in the series free, dunno what it is about it but I can't stick with it no matter what I do, I just get bored. Annoying witnesses. Annoying partners. Annoying character growth.

buy the original trilogy and stop there. 1 > 3 > 2

OG trilogy, the ports are all fine.

Then go to investigations then Great Ace then Apollo if you want to play more. Apollo is the worst so do it last.
