that is less that zero effort, at best one or two lines of code unless the developers wrote abysmally retarded code or are complete idiots relying heavily on dogshit proprietary middleware to write a server
you don't even have to provide binaries
users would still have to pay for the game to get the game client + assets and the GPL license would largely hamstring competitors using a studio's code for their benefit
hell it doesn't even need to be an open source license, it could just be source available like aseprite, space engineers, unreal, and i think even tf2
