Amazing free RPG Maker adventure game (not horror actually) for moonrune readers.
It's pretty much what Undertale could have been if its creator(s?) had talent and motivation to put a huge load of effort and work into their game.
There are hundreds of NPCs, each with separate sprites, no copy-pasta, animated portraits, there are ~40 costumes for the MC, changing his looks completely (no recolours) often with special walking animations and so on.
But mainly, it's a great game with an interesting story and a lot of good characters.

Northern Journey was so far the best one that some anon shilled years ago but by now it isn't hidden anymore.

Couple of days ago some anon shilled Tombs Of Tyrants which I like so far but I haven't played it enough yet to recommend it.

Not him, but it was originally a flash game. I didn't even know it got re-released. Played it last time like 20 years ago. It had to look simple, although I guess they could change it a bit for the re-release.
Still, it was a pretty good game.

I know that "human guy in magic school filled with demihumans" sounds like a cheap gooner vn, but this one is not. It's got a really interesting setting, dark themes, funny humour, many different routes with different endings, well-developed characters and a protagonist who isn't the usual clueless idiot and actually has a personality. Also lots of cgs with a really unique style. The dragon sequel is also really good, and possibly even better.

I'll keep shilling Heat Signature.
I'd call it a procedurally generated immersive sim from the creators of Gunpoint and Tactical Breach.
Usually you get a mission like "assassinate a target on this ship here" and you can do it any way you want: infiltrate it and stealth your way to the target while using cool gadgets or hack the teleporter so when the alarm rings and the target tries to run it gets teleported into space and dies, or you can hijack the target ship and fly it into the sun, or steal another ship and just destroy the target with missiles.
I'd say it gets stale after 15 hours or so but these are really great 15 hours.
