Angela is a massive fail visually and VA. I liked more interactions with Maria while exploring the town but she looks/feels wrong as a character.
Atmosphere is lost, ambient is often on a shitty loop that doesn't even actually loop just stops and begins anew some time later which breaks immersion. There is barely any silent segments to build tension. Too many enemies, like 10x more than original. It's like i'm playing RE4. Pyramidhead behaves different and I don't even see him as a threat. What a fucking terrible remake. I still can't force myself to finish it but I will eventually.

I really enjoyed the new Maria content. She got fleshed out more while staying true to the character. She wants to live and she wants to be with James, her leading him astray on a wild goose chase to spend more time with him was a nice touch. She also cares about Laura, so moving scenes around the way they did made sense.

I always felt that there was a kernel of truth to things Eddie and Angela accused James of. While we don't see James laughing at Eddie, we as players are certainly invited to do so. From his plumbers crack, him taking shit from Laura, the fucking pizza exchange... Same goes for Angela. We don't see James lusting after her, but we as players are supposed to notice that she's a pretty girl. The camera lingers on her hips and ass during the mirror scene, and James does get a bit too touchy with her, all the while wanting her to come with him. Nu-Angela, well, let's be real no one but her dad thinks she's hot.

It baffles me that people don't understand this and seethe over the "looney tunes" bit when you use the steel pipe on him in the first phase. Like bro he's not meant to be terrifying that's why he whimpers every time you hit him. The point of his character is that he's fat and pathetic but even pathetic people have their breaking point but it doesn't turn them into chads when they suddenly grab a gun either. It's kind of a common theme that all 3 adult characters in SH2 are weak and pathetic in their own ways and only James changes a little in the end.

They went the entire game development cycle and apparently never noticed it? The entire cast has very weird wonky body proportions, likely because no one has any background in arts, and Maria's ginormous noggin is just the most noticeable.
