Yeah, I pirated first game and it was a real walking sim then bought it for cheap and it was a night and day difference.

No, how populated the map becomes with shit scales with your own progress.
It's still too much though, I built 1 generator 1 bridge and 1 jump ramp over the course of my entire playthrough because all critical infrastructure I would ever need had already been built by others when I arrived. DS1 didn't have this problem because it was more harsh about where the chiral network zones ended.

Not really, you still need to progress with likes to see more stuff from other players. You'll see that much faster if you build stuff that gets likes too.
