Thats not the issue. Its the gameplay itself. MOBAs are already extremely bad at actually obtaining new players. Then they created one with an insanely high barrier to entry with all of its mechanics. It was doomed from the start.

There's a secret second closed alpha because having the game go largely public ended up causing more harm than anything else.
If anything it should inform you as to the average gamers intelligence, when they join a closed alpha and start crying about it being unfinished but then try to treat it as if it's a feature complete game.

they need to remove almost all movement options. Get rid of sliding, rolling, melee cancel bug and focus on making the abilities the mobility. Look at marvel rivals the default movement is slow and limited as fuck , but the characters abilities give them the options. The constant roll and slide spam is what made me quit

Ever since they stopped making "simple" games with emergent complexity (TF2, cs, l4d) and focused on "complex" games with tons of number crunch they have only succeeded with dota and that was very much a product of the times. Deadlock appears poised to flop like their last two games made with the same design philosophy and I hope they finally realize the problem
