Only tangentially. Prey 2017's world is exploratory and interconnected, and you can use powers/tools in creative ways to access new areas (mimicry, gloo gun, etc). But it's an immersive sim through and through, not a metroidvania.

Yeah, I loved Prey but the enemy design is where the game really drops the ball. It wants to be the true spiritual successor to system shock, but doesn't really have any of the disturbing elements of that when the enemies are all just shadows (with or without various elemental powers). Really wish it had some true body horror in the same vein as the worms slowly taking over and corrupting people in system shock 2.
