erm that's illegal just pay nintendo for nintendo online

Stop being an NPC and think for yourself.
People will tell you either emulate or play on a CRT but the reality is nothing is as good as the Tink 4K. It's a league of its own product
>>714591496I don't want to pay $750 though
>>714590856 (OP)Most subtle advertising thread
why the think does it cost ps5 pro price for an upscaler
>>714590856 (OP)Taking a shit in a toilet. Fuck off, shill.
Either go with original hardware or set up Retroarch/individual emulators.
>>714592346FPGAs aren't cheap and it's an incredibly niche product so it needs high margins
We know Mike made a couple million off it but that's years of work and risk, I think it's priced fairly. There's also the CE and 5X for people who don't need every feature
>>714592248Emulation is literally anti-normie, faggot.
It is a perfect filter against newfags.
>>714592590more people emulate than play on real hardware, what's it like back there in 2005?
>>714590856 (OP)What the fuck is this
Don't tell me it's just an hdmi adapter
>>714593063No he said it's a scaler.
>>7145927731440p, and if you're going to be picky, then put up the cash.
>>714593121>>714592851Just saw a video and it's even worse than I thought.
It adds some shitty filter over your picture
>>714593738It lets you do whatever you want with the picture, filters are optional.
>>714593697Sucks for PS2, signal switch dropouts are AIDS too.
>>714592773>1080p and no HDRAnd why is that a problem when the original signal is 240p SDR?
>>714593997Sleek, elegant, non-pretentious. I use my scaler for video capture.
>>714593778>>714593801I mean you could have the same result on a raspi pi and even un your game on it
What utter snake oil nonsense
>>714592664A normie would try to buy an mCable, pay for Nintendon't Virtual Coonslow shit, or try to mod his coonslow with Terradrive, any other ODE, or buy FPGA shit, before they ever think of trying emulation.
>>714593939>>714594069Because if you emulate the shadow mask you need the increased brightness to fix the gamma curve.
>>714594124No you can't, because raspberry pi is a computer, this is a scaler.
You can't plug an actual SNES or PS2 into a raspberry pi.
>>714594126No, normalfags (normie?? lol) just emulates. I don't know why you're having a fit over this. Emulation has been the normalfag solution for the longest time. It's free and works on devices everyone has in their pocket. They even sell emulation devices that are obscenely popular they sell them at malls.
You are extremely out of touch if you think emulation is niche. It's literally the most popular way to play old games. You are not special for this, you are as good as a normalfag.
>>714593997it's all fine and dandy if you are still living in your old bedroom in your parents house, but some of us have our own living room and want something bigger than a fucking 20" screen.
>>714594147I use the shadow mask on my OSSC with my NeoPDP display from 2009 and the brightness is fine.
Just emulate or plug into an old TV and be done with. People waste too much money trying to find the best accuracy or upscalers. Most people back then had shitty TVs anyways
>>714593997It was proven months ago that OLED monitors with 8K res actually BTFO the tubes, because color accuracy and pitch is way better, while latency and response times are extremely low (OLED is 0.03 ms ORT), and 8K res allows to output even better scanline rendering than vanilla CRT were doing. CRT will be completely irrelevant once 8K drops in price just about enough for it to become mainstream, which will happen by 2028 at the latest and 2026 by the earliest. 4K sucks for scanline emulation and timings, pitch is not good enough, but 8K is the point where it's actually completely feasible. It's over for CRT.
>>714594506I don't feel like going to japan and hiring a small construction crew to carry a 440lb CRT and mail it to me just so I can have a screen larger than 32".
>>714594534CRT hasn't been relevant for 20 years. What a weird, insane, and unhinged post.
>>714594350>You are extremely out of touch if you think emulation is nicheBitch I literally worked as a QA alongside Steve Snake during the years when he was developing K-Gen '98, which directly led to Lazarus and Fusion.
>>714590856 (OP)>Buy a Raspberry Pi from ebay for around 60 bucks>Throw retropi on it>Buy it a cool little NES or megadrive housing>load ROMS onto it via FTP or SAMBA from your PC>8bitdo controllerTakes around an hour to set up. Completely worth it. Plays everything from Atari right up to PS2 using AetherSX2 engine.
>>714594792Currently I have 4K TV, but I'm definitely going to get an 8K one in next few years.
I'm not a retard, however, I prefer monitors connected through DisplayPort way more, HDMI is dogshit. I'd rather connect a huge 42+ " OLED 8K monitor to my PC and use that as a "TV", than a separate TV.
>>714591171TVs are for movies and shows, monitors are for games
>>714595208oh FUCK. I wish I could go back to the 90s and tell myself that! Little anon would care so much!
>>714595179So how can you say 8k is better then CRT if you've never seen it.
>>714594868That's ridiculously small compared to modern TV sizes.
>>714594994Yeah and I beta tested his prototype Saturn emulator in 2009.
>>714592346Because it's a fucing scam?
>>714594994We get it, you know only the latest in emulation circa 2005. How is this supposed to prove you aren't out of touch? Gonna start talking about the good old days on Zophar's Domain?
>>714590856 (OP)Please tell me you are only joking.
Please tell me you were never thinking of buying this.
>>714594384You don't have an office space in your own home? I've got my work computer, gaming setup with an OLED and CRT and a squat rack in mine. Living room has a TV but I only use that when people are over, otherwise, I just use the living room for reading.

I was the one who got Tom and Gemini back together when they lost all contacts with each-other, after DHN's untimely demise.
>>714595390Can you only connect one console at a time to these things or can you use a switch?

About 7 years ago or so, I used to have a ghetto PC build. The GPU was capable of using that CRT Emudriver or whatever the fuck. So I used that with super resolutions because Windows 8.1 didn't support really low ones. It worked mostly ok except for platforms that needed to automatically switch between 240p and 480i, where I had to manually switch that up.
Of course I also had a modded Wii, but some of the emulators were authentic trash and RetroArch kept crashing all the time.
Nowadays I don't bother. I have a 360hz OLED display mounted to a monitor arm that I can place vertically, I can barely notice a difference in terms of motion clarity, it's plenty bright for me, I can use BFI. And I can emulate saturn games comfortably. And this build is no ghetto build anymore, I have a 4070S. And I have an OLED Deck loaded up with games too and sometimes I prefer that.
What I'm saying is I don't give a shit anymore about this nonsense.
