I think some of us could say we've played through an old favorite game beginning to end 10 times or so at most, maybe some have pushed to 20 for a game on the shorter side. 1000 times and playing it the same way by trying to get to the end as fast as possible by trying to enter all the correct inputs until it becomes muscle memory and saving a few seconds at most? There was a period where I watched those speedrunning history videos (before I got bored because they're really repetitive) and I think it was a Ninja Gaiden related one and it got to the point where one guy specifically was constantly breaking records and the video mentions him running the game 5-6000 times
